Analyse: words choice, imagery and sentence structure. With word choice, you pick out a particular word and analyse why this particular choice of phrasing is significant. It's best to analyse the literal root of the word and then explore what this Original meaning does to the test. Imagery compared to something abstract.

Alway keep them in mind:
1) audience mean who a text is for - who is supposed to read it, or listen to it.
2) purpose mean what a text is for- why a person is writing it or saying it. Is the writer trying to persuade, or influence you?
3) analysis: this is where you examine the writer's style of writing I'm detail, focusing on the techniques that they use to convey their meaning to you.
4)evaluation: making a judgements about how effectively you believe the writer has expressed a certain I dea to the reader. Therefore need to analyse the text. Before you evaluate it.
5)the writer's use of language: language techniques of word choice, Imagery, sentence structure or tone.
6) word choice: try to compare the word to a more neutral word, and you should be able to grasp the idea.
7) Imagery: explore what effect the writer is striving to convey by using a particular comparison.
8)sentence structure: refers to how a sentence is put together and built.
