Job ID: 36384963

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

Synthesis Matrix, Summative Annotations, and Proposal Requirements

1. A completed synthesis matrix with 1) at least eight sources published within the last ten years, 2) at least four themes, 3) at least four statements of significance for those themes, and 4) at least twelve direct quotations of at least three sentences in length. All sources must be high-quality reports, books, or peer-reviewed studies published in scholarly journals. You can obtain these sources from the library's databases (e.g., Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, ERIC) and freely accessible academic search engines (e.g., Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic). Journalism in all of its varieties should be completely avoided. In general, if a source does not have expert authors who study the topic professionally, does not examine the subject using an objective approach or a clear methodology, and lacks a reference list, it does not qualify as a scholarly source.
2. An annotated bibliography with a minimum of eight sources published within the last ten years with at least one linking in-text citation to each entry in the reference list. These sources must all be high-quality studies, formal reports, books written in an academic manner, or peer-reviewed studies published in scholarly journals. You can obtain these sources from the library's databases (e.g., Academic Search Complete, JSTOR, ERIC) and freely accessible academic search engines (e.g., Google Scholar, Microsoft Academic). Journalism in all of its varieties should be completely avoided. In general, if a source does not have expert authors who study the topic professionally, does not examine the subject using an objective approach or a clear methodology, and lacks a reference list, it is not a scholarly source.
3. Summative annotations for each source in your reference list. Each annotation must be at least a paragraph (five sentences) in length. Please note that these do not contribute to the assignment's minimum word count requirement and that you must compose your own original summative annotations and cannot simply copy and paste author-provided abstracts and summaries.
4. A brief proposal of at least 150 words of original writing which includes 1) our goals and objectives for this writing project, 2) a description of your intended analysis, 3) the themes you intend to discuss and the connections between them, 4) a tentative thesis statement, 5) a statement of the problem your analysis or investigation will explore, 6) the significance and originality of your intended analysis or investigation, 7) a schedule and estimate of time use during each stage of the project, and 8) a brief, preliminary outline of the flow of your essay.
5. Compose paragraphs that are a minimum of five sentences but do not exceed ten sentences.
6. Double-spaced text, with no extra spacing before or after paragraphs, written in 12-point Times New Roman font, with standard margins (1" on all sides).
7. Format all document elements according to APA 7 or MLA 9 guidelines.
8. Submit/upload all documents in the Microsoft Word file format (.docx or .doc).
