Research summary on a government deal

Job ID: 36863689

Budget: ₹1,500 – ₹12,500 INR

In November 2022, Adani Realty won a global tender to redevelop Dharavi slums (Dharavi Redevelopment project) with a bid of ₹5,069 crore. This is the biggest urban redevelopment project in the world till date.
The project involves rehabilitation of nearly 10 lakh people, including 60,000 residential and 13,000 commercial dwellers, and redevelopment of 240 hectares of prime land over a 17-year span. A slew of concessions has been given to the developer such as 4 FSI and transferable development rights.

There has been a lot of suspicion over the tender. The process of tendering has been very unfair and opaque. Many Indian legislators and lawyers have raised concerns on this. They claim that project requirements were completely tweaked in favour of Adani reality. Since Adani has always been very close with the Indian prime minister. This seems to be a clear case of crony capitalism at play. It was a global tender and earlier was awarded to someone else before re-tendering happened and Adani won it.

I would require a well-researched evidence based analysis in about 1500 words (including tables and data). I would want you to be unbiased and explore if any favouritism has been shown to the Adani's. You should explore legal angles, policy angles, economic angles or any such required perspective to establish your case. The question to be answered is whether the claim of tweaking policies and processes in favour of Adani true. If yes how, If not how.
