Research topic: The impact of using robots and technology in the construction industry

First: Prepare a proposal of research

You need to prepare a proposal of research topic in which you address the following:

1- Research Idea: A description of the topic.

2- Research Gap: It is anything that hasn't been uncovered from previous research studies such as any non-identified variables, a new research context (different market/industry/target population), or a controversy in research finding that you capitalize on to have a unique research problem definition.

3- Research Objectives: those can be written in the form of:

(a) research questions (between 2 and 4) and then

(b) refined in terms of research hypotheses (between 3 and 6). For you to know how to write your research hypotheses, please refer to session four in which I explained the difference between the null and the alternative hypothesis and you can find an example on that thing in slide 26.

4- Research Philosophy: Discuss the philosophy that governs your style as a researcher in this research topic.

5- Research Approach: The approach to be adopted (Deductive, or indictive, or abductive).

6- Research Methodology: Qualitative/quantitative/Mixed. (Attached you find session five presentation for you to have a deep overview of qualitative research).

7- Research Methods: Choose the methods you might consider as a main tool(s) in your fieldwork in light of your answer to item 6 above.

MAKE SURE YOU SHOW A LIST OF YOUR REFERENCES BASED ON APA FORMAT AND STANDARDS AND DO PROPER INTEXT CITATIONS.

YOU NEED TO SUBMIT (1) A WORD FILE THAT CONSISTS OF 1,500-2,000 WORDS (5 TO 7 PAGES)

Second: Prepare Qualitative Research.

1- You need to identify some key seminal theories and two to three recent and highly cited scientific articles in light of the above topic aiming to identify some key variables or theoretical model that helps you to define your research problem and identify a theoretical model integrating your research variables.

2- Arrange for running one or two interviews and/or focus group meetings with key informants or participants using semi-structured questionnaires. Make sure not to schedule your interview before finalizing task number 1 stated above so that you make yourself more knowledgeable about the research topic.

3- Critically write a synthesis of the literature review based on the theories and articles you found about the stated topic.

4- Analyze the empirical data collected from fieldwork

5- The whole report should be submitted as a word document (1,500 words) and a PPT file (6-10 slides)
