Research Project on Electrolyte Absorption & Dehydration through sweating vs alcohol consumption
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Need to get a better understanding of how dehydration differs between the two events: Sports activity and Hangovers. Specifically, what role each of the 3 main electrolytes (Sodium, Potassium, Magnesium) plays and why.
The goal of this project is to scour the internet and credible articles to learn how one electrolyte could be more important than the other when hydrating from the two activities. Basically - does the body crave Potassium more than Sodium when enduring physical activity and losing fluids through sweating as opposed to urinating from a diuretic, and vice versa?
I've heard that Potassium helps relieve cramps when running but is it still helpful to drink fluids with potassium when hungover? Why?
Does Magnesium play a role?
Will pay an additional $200 if you CAN prove that one electrolyte is more important than the others relative to each activity.
All research and sourced must be sited. Looking to have this completed and paid by Friday 3/11.
