As the lead author on this review article, I aim to critically analyze the challenges currently encountered in Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology. My goal is to provide a comprehensive overview that'll dig into both the technical and business difficulties that we face in harnessing this technology to its full potential.

KEY FOCUS AREAS:
- Recognition Accuracy: Profiling and discussing the intrinsic challenges around consistently obtaining high recognition accuracy in OCR technology, along with strategies adopted to overcome them.
- Character Segmentation: Highlighting ongoing issues and possible solutions around character segmentation that play a major role in the adequacy of OCR processes.
- It should be between (4000-5000) words.
- Referencing style is IEEE and the template should be IEEE transaction.
- The plagiaraism should be less than %10.
