Media report for psychology

Your job is to find two written reports of scientific findings in the popular press (e.g., cnn.com, USA Today, Erie Times News, etc..) and write a short (2-3 page) paper discussing the media’s treatment of the findings. Do not use articles from reputable scientific media sources (e.g., Scientific American, AAAS). You will also need to find the original published account of the research from the journal in which it was published. You should specifically address whether the conclusions and implications stated or implied by the article are warranted, whether alternative explanations are discussed, and whether the first-hand account of the research (as published in the journal) matches with the second-hand account of the research (as published in the popular press).



You should thus turn in:

Your written analysis (2-3 pages, typed, double spaced, no questionable margins or fonts, etc.. You know the deal)
A copy of, or link to, the popular press article
A copy of, or link to, the full-text original journal article
