Expert English Language Arts Educator, specifically with Extensive In-Class Composition & Writing

Our EdTech Literacy company (LightSailED.com) continues to revise the writing modules in our extensive program. We’re looking for an expert ELA Educator with extensive experience teaching and designing curriculum for Composition courses, with an emphasis on the elementary and middle school level.

The ideal candidate *must* have experience and knowledge of writing development in the elementary school years as well as preparatory writing skills needed for secondary and post-secondary education. They should believe that writing skills should and must be taught, not just assigned.

They should also be well-versed in the theory and research of writing instruction, as well as an active writer who understands the practice and reflective nature of writing.

Experience working with curriculum design in specifically composition and in-class teaching experience is a must. A strong understanding of the teaching of digital writing is essential.

Qualifications include:
Degree in Education, with an emphasis in ELA Composition preferred
Active teaching certification preferred
Knowledge of current writing standards, including Common Core and National Writing Project standards
Analytical and detailed mind who can critically evaluate and collaboratively work with a team
Belief in relevant, engaging, and affirming language and writing education for all students to create active participants in our interconnected world
Knowledge of multiple techniques for writing instruction, with a wide range of experience for in-class usage
Strong belief that writing should be used in all subject areas, in all classrooms, for all ages
Understanding that a well-rounded approach to writing instruction serves all students for a personalized educational experience
