Job ID: 36477581

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

This is the opportunity for students to illustrate their cumulative knowledge from the course. They should be able to show how to use the 4 Cs of storytelling effectively in academic writing, how to determine themes in the sources they read, and how to analyze evidence to support an argument. The writing should be high caliber after the many lessons and revision opportunities the students have had.

FORMAT:
6-8 pages of text, double-spaced, Times New Roman 12-point font, 1-inch margins. You will also need to include a cover page and reference page, which are not part of your page count. Lastly, you need to submit a Revisions Memo (can be found in the semester-long resources module) with your final paper.

DETAILS:
This is your final paper for the class, and the test of your cumulative knowledge from the course. Everything assignment in the research process goes towards making your research paper strong and well structured.

Structure:
COVER PAGE: This should include 3 items.
Title in two parts that are separated by a colon.
Part 1, before the colon: alliteration, clever phrase, or question
Part 2, after the colon: subtitle that reveals your angle and keywords
Your name, class, TA’s name
Abstract
Should be 4-7 concise sentences, single-spaced
State the problem or question to be explored
Announce the key themes using keywords
State the conclusions you expect to demonstrate

INTRODUCTION: Connect with your audience and introduce your topic’s significance and lead into your thesis statement.

BODY PARAGRAPHS: You will likely have between 3-4 main points with evidence to support them. Remember, 3-4 main points does not mean you will only have 3-4 body paragraphs—that would mean your paragraphs were far too long.

CONCLUSION: Restate your thesis using new language. Answer the ‘so what?’

REFERENCES: You need a minimum of 10 sources (4 must be secondary, 2 must be tertiary), but you can have more if you’d like. Your reference page should be in APA formatting, meaning your sources should be sorted alphabetically.
