Early Childhood Education Research Paper
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
Narrow the broad topic (How does poverty impact the education of children?) that was assigned to assist you in conducting your research. Identify a more specific question related to the topic that you are interested in studying. An example could be "How does poverty impact the social/emotional skills of kindergarten students in the school setting?"
Conduct research on the selected topic using articles, books, websites, videos, policy statement, etc. Your research should include at least 5-7 sources including:
Three or more books and/or articles (not including your textbook)
One or more websites
One or more videos
Any additional appropriate sources of information
After this initial research is conducted and you have a stronger understanding of the topic, you will conduct an interview with a professional directly impacted by the issue (teachers, administrators, faculty) and report on the findings. You should carefully select and invite a professional to discuss this critical issue with you. If you need assistance identifying an appropriate individual to interview, the instructor may offer assistance. You should identify at least five questions to guide your interview that will provide valuable information on how the issue impacts this individual in the current position or work. You may interview the individual in person, via video conference, or on the telephone. Make sure to cite the individual in your references, and indicate how the interview was conducted.
Once information is gathered through research and an interview, you will reflect on your own beliefs and values as they pertain to the issue. Consider how it might impact your practice as a future educator. Identify ways that you might address this concern as you move into your role as a teacher.
The assignment submitted for grading will be in written form. It is suggested that the paper be organized into three sections. Paper will be 4-6 pages (not including the references page or title page)
Section 1: Summary of the literature and research used to provide background information on the topic. It is essential that the information you present be carefully cited and referenced as all ideas that are not your own should be credited to the original source.
Section 2: A summary of your interview with the professional related to or engaged in topic.
Section 3: A reflection regarding the topic and how it affects your understanding of diversity in education and the professional dispositions of teachers. This reflection should also include how this new understanding has impacted your beliefs or values regarding your future role as a teacher working with students from diverse backgrounds. You must include a reference list that includes all sources used to inform the paper.
I am fine with you putting your beliefs if they are different from mine i will chance them.
