Determinants in Advice Taking

My master thesis "Determinants in advice taking" has to analyze why people tend to take advices from others and what makes them seek advice if the first place. Is it either due to lack of knowledge, or because they would like to double check their estimations with someone else, or if not, why they stick with their initial choice.
