Comprehensive Literature Review for Thermosyphon Thesis

Job ID: 39138464

Budget: $250 – $750 CAD

Task Overview:

I am working on my thesis, which involves the experimental validation of boiling (pool boiling and film boiling) and condensation prediction equations for thermosyphons and heat pipes (cylindrical convemntional ). A previous PhD student developed these equations, and my task is to validate them experimentally.

Objectives: I need a comprehensive literature review for my thesis, focusing on the following points:

1.Critique of Previous Correlations and Prediction Capabilities:

Review and critique the previous correlations used for predicting pool boiling, film boiling, and condensation.
Discuss the performance of these equations across different studies and datasets. Focus on their prediction capabilities—are they accurate and consistent in different conditions and applications?
Evaluate the reliability of these equations—do they work well across a range of conditions or are they limited to specific setups?
Emphasize how the proposed equation, which includes terms like fill ratio, aspect ratio, and inclination angle, offers better prediction accuracy and consistency compared to existing models.
2.Experimental Validation and Scope of Previous Studies:

Review the experimental datasets used in previous studies. What parameters were tested, and how extensive was the variation?
Discuss whether previous studies varied a wide range of parameters or only tested a limited set of conditions. Was the dataset ample enough to draw broad conclusions, or were the tests narrow and not representative of real-world conditions?
Highlight the limitations of these datasets in terms of parameter variation (e.g., fill ratio, aspect ratio, inclination angle) and explain why the comprehensive experimental setup in my work is a more robust contribution.
3.Insights on Optimal Parameters:

Summarize general insights from previous research on optimal values for:
Fill ratio,
Aspect ratio,
Inclination angle,
Heat input.
Discuss why these optimal values are important and how they influence thermosyphon and heat pipe performance.
4.Thermal Performance of Screen Mesh Heat Pipes:

Discuss the thermal performance of screen mesh wick heat pipes, focusing on what has been tested in the literature. What variables were considered in experiments involving screen mesh heat pipes (e.g., fill ratio, inclination angle, heat input)?
Review any existing prediction equations for heat pipes with wick, and discuss whether these equations account for the wick term in their models.
Provide general insights into the findings from studies on screen mesh heat pipes. How do these studies compare to traditional thermosyphons, and what trends or challenges have emerged in predicting their performance?
5.Justification for Improved Equations:

Conclude with a discussion of the need for better predictive equations. The review should leave the reader with a clear understanding of why the proposed equations (which incorporate fill ratio, aspect ratio, and inclination angle) are a significant advancement in the field.
The literature review should highlight the gaps in current models and emphasize the importance of the proposed improvements.
6.Additional Information:

I will also include a summary of the previous student’s derivation of the equations within the literature review, so please keep this in mind when crafting the review. i need 15-20 pages and 17-20 refrences . use this paper as reference , look at the correlations used there.
