Identify any one career of your choice - Startup/Family Business/Professional/other
Identify any two persons who are living that career currently, since min. 4 years
Interview them on the following four steps of career management-
a. Self -Assessment- What made them decide their initial career choice (s)? What all
did they do to assess themselves to decide that?
b. Reality Check- What was their experience of reality viz a viz their self-assessment
and initial plan of career? What challenges did they face? How did they overcome
those challenges? What did they realize eventually & what changes they made?
c. Goal Setting- What are their current career goals in the short, medium & long term?
What makes them think that they can achieve them? What challenges they
foresee?
d. Action Planning- What is their detailed action plan to achieve the above set goals?
What is the current status of implementation?
Reflect and mention- if this is your career choice, then can you face those challenges? If
Yes, then what steps will you take to prepare for those challenges?
