Article on benefits of predicting diversity

I am looking for an academic style article on the benefits of being able to predict cultural(like religion, ethnicity, language) and demographic( like gender, age, education level, disability, sexuality ), of a cohort. If I know how a community/team/group 's workforce look like in the future, I can start plan better for that.
