Australian Nursing and Midwifery Journal Article. Students provide evidence for their achievement
of learning outcomes through writing an article incorporating a reflective commentary on how
their learning in NURS1008 will change their future practice to become a culturally safe health
professional.
Write a hypothetical article for the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Journal. Use the author
guidelines of ANMJ and craft a journal article about how studying this topic prepares you to
become a culturally safe nurse.
Include a nursing philosophy statement.
Tell the story of what you as a nursing student have learnt about Aboriginal health and how you as
a future nurse will incorporate this into your clinical practice.
Include ‘Tweets’ you have made related to cultural safety in nursing and how you will be a
culturally safe nurse. Ensure you demonstrate your ability to reflect on your future professional
practice, especially around cultural safety.
SUBMISSION
1. Finished article: Concise format of finished article: length of 800 words.
2. Appendix 1: Include as an Appendix 1 a concept map, and draft of your writing process, notes,
and/or illustrations.
3. Appendix 2: Include as an Appendix 2 your ‘Tweets’ relating to cultural safety and how you can
be a culturally safe nurse in your future practice.
Your assignment should be up to 2000 words in total (inclusive of your 800 words finished article).
