The student collects and processes primary or secondary data and/or information in a report on the effect of chlorination of drinking water, which includes the following elements.
Defines chlorination
Explain the importance of kaitiakitanga in our waterways
Collects and processes information from at least three sources, recorded in a way that can be accessed by others.
Presents findings in a report which:
Describes the reasons for chlorination of water
Presents findings in an in-depth report which:
Explains the effect of chlorination of water both advantages and disadvantages (to the individual)
Presents findings in a comprehensive report which:
Multiple links to the local community and further afield using chemical ideas and terms
Identifies two different views/outlooks/ opinions/perspectives with supporting evidence (named people or groups).
Takes a position on the issue.
Takes and justifies a position on the issue (with reference to specific evidence or information).
Students must state their position and explain why using evidence from research.
Makes a recommendation for action, which is justified by their position on the issue.
Students must explain why they recommend the action, based on evidence from research.
Evaluate at least 3 sources using SIFT and CRAAP
