Understanding Student Sustainability Attitudes
Budget: €250 – €750 EUR
I'm looking for an experienced social scientist who specialises in qualitative research to help me understand personal attitudes towards sustainability. This project involves diving into data and using thematic analysis to uncover key themes and insights.
Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: You'll be analysing data from questionnaires and conducting 10-20 in-depth interviews.
- Software Utilisation: We'll be using ATLAS.ti for the thematic analysis, so familiarity with the software is a must.
Key Requirements:
- Educational Background: A solid background in social sciences, with a focus on qualitative research methodologies.
- Technical Skills: Proven experience with thematic analysis and proficiency in ATLAS.ti.
- Analytical Abilities: Strong interpretative skills to identify and communicate underlying themes and patterns.
- Communication: Ability to present findings clearly and comprehensively.
Methodology Highlights:
- Rationale for Approach: We're using a qualitative approach to explore the complex socio-economic and environmental impacts of sustainability initiatives, focusing on areas like Decent Work and Economic Growth, Climate Action, and Life Below Water.
- Sampling Strategy: We’re using a purposive sampling strategy to gather a variety of perspectives from employees and management through interviews.
- Data Generation Procedures: The project will involve a mix of structured and semi-structured interviews, document analysis, and secondary data analysis. We'll explore topics like marine conservation, waste management, eco-friendly practices, transparency, and communication.
- Data Analysis Procedures: We’ll be conducting thematic analysis using ATLAS.ti, focusing on coding and categorising responses into themes to identify recurring patterns.
