Patient Record Statistics in Excel

I have a spreadsheet of patient records that needs to speak for itself. My main objective is to produce a clear, statistically sound summary of the data, with results broken down by age groups. Think descriptive statistics, confidence intervals where appropriate, and visuals that help a non-technical audience grasp the key points at a glance.
The workbook should let me:
• Quickly view overall metrics (counts, means, medians, ranges).
• Drill down by age bracket to spot patterns or outliers.
• Export a concise, print-ready report that captures the findings in plain language and charts.
Excel is the core tool, but I’m fine if you lean on Power Query, PivotTables, or even Power Pivot/DAX to streamline the workflow—as long as the final file stays self-contained in .xlsx format with no external links or code macros.
Acceptance criteria
• Cleaned data tab with every transformation documented.
• “Summary” tab showing headline stats and age-group comparisons.
• At least two clear visuals (e.g., bar chart, box plot).
• Short written interpretation (a few paragraphs) inside the workbook or as a separate Word/PDF file.
I only need the age-based comparison right now, but the structure should be flexible enough that I can later add gender or treatment analyses without rebuilding from scratch. Let me know the turnaround time you’d need and any clarifying questions up front so we can get rolling quickly.
