Maritime Business Analysis & Ethical Evaluation

Job ID: 38783072

Budget: $30 – $250 SGD

Question 1 1300 words
Maritime Management Strategies and Leadership Practices
Using appropriate strategic models (e.g., Cultural web, McKinsey 7 Ss, Porter’s 5
Forces etc.), write a report evaluating the external and internal factors that have
contributed to the success of Royal Caribbean Group or formerly known as Royal
Caribbean Ltd. as one of the leading companies in the maritime industry. Following
your analysis, provide a brief discussion on the prospects and challenges that Royal
Caribbean Group faces, along with potential strategic directions in the long term. You
should start your report by justifying your choices of the analytical frameworks used in
the report, in the wider context of strategic analyses.
You are encouraged to read the guide to report writing (‘report_writing.pdf`) on the
TLP, which will assist you in how to properly structure your answer. The guide to report
writing contains advice on the specific sections of the report. Not all of these will be
appropriate to include in your answer, so you need to determine how to structure the
report and if necessary, check with your personal tutor whether you are taking the
correct approach.
In the report, it is expected that you will cite, reference and critically review an
appropriate range and number of relevant Journal articles and other academic texts.
These should be topical and current. Complement your answer by making connections
with other subject areas where appropriate. Reference your work correctly using the
Harvard Referencing System. Figures, diagrams and tables (properly referenced or
cited) may be used to illustrate the text to further support your answer.

Question 2 1100 words
Ethical Behaviour and Corporate Social Responsibility
Select a specific company or sector within the maritime industry and compose a
reflective essay. In your essay, you will critically analyse and discuss the importance
of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), codes of conduct, and policies in the
maritime context. Furthermore, you are required to evaluate the challenges that arise
in implementing these principles and assess the extent to which they align with the
values and ethical behaviour of your chosen company/sector. It is important that you
use relevant examples and relate your own experience to support the response.

Consider best practices in your sector as documented in contemporary literature.
Make full use of figures and diagrams where appropriate and ensure that you support
your answer with references from outside of the taught programme, written in the
Harvard style.
