Individual Self-Reflection Report
The goal with self-reflection is to improve self-awareness, develop confidence, provide perspective, challenge your assumptions, and facilitate a deeper level of learning that allows you to respond, instead of reacting to situations as they arise. Here it means reflecting over your previous experiences and your career and life goals from the perspective of the course material.
Going back to your previous experiences related to course themes, cases, and materials, how do you reflect over those experiences now? Did you reframe some of your assumptions? If so, how? What were the key ideas or insights that you experienced during the course that made you curious?
Continue by reflecting over the questions: Who am I? Where I am I? Where do I want to get to? How do I best get there? How do you approach your career planning now? How could (or did) you involve others in your life design process (i.e., radical collaboration)? How could (or did) you prototype some of the hypotheses related to your plans you have outlined over this course? What role does leadership and management play in your life design and career plans?
The papers must contain three important aspects in an interconnected manner:
1. Theories, models, conceptual framework for analysis (course materials)
2. Practice, implementation, examples (analysis of previous experiences)
3. Personal impact, an action plan (applying the learnings)
The assignment is evaluated based on the following criteria:
1. Effectively linking course concepts and methodologies to your personal experiences and the next steps you want to take in your life and career.
2. Depth in the self-assessment of your strengths and areas of further development on the dimensions discussed during the course.
Please note that you should use the materials from this course and there should be explicit references to them in text preferably using endnotes. Your written assignment should be 2-3 pages in length (single-spaced,12-point font typeface), excluding references. You may also include up to 4 pages of appendices, (e.g., survey results, figures or tables, a more detailed career plan/s or action plans). Submit the assignment anytime from the final day of the class to one week after the course ends.
