Sober Bar Design & Vision Package
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
We’re opening Sober Bar, a modern, cozy, social mocktail lounge with strong ambiance and efficient flow. Think warm lighting, lounge seating, espresso-forward bar, intimate stage for jazz/acoustic sets, and a space people want to stay in.
I’m looking for a designer with real hospitality experience who understands bar + café workflow and commercial equipment, not just aesthetics.
Your role is to design the space and deliver a complete, build-ready vision package that shows exactly what this place should look like and exactly what needs to be purchased to execute it — without knocking down walls or triggering a major remodel.
I will handle sourcing, cost engineering, and DIY execution after delivery.
⸻
Deliverables (2–3 revision rounds)
1) Scaled 2D Floor Plan Package (DBPR-friendly)
• Scaled and dimensioned floor plans (PDF/DWG)
• All equipment and fixtures clearly shown and tagged (E-01, E-02, etc.)
• Bar layout, espresso/kava line, ventless food zone
• Plumbing fixtures shown (existing + proposed): 3-comp sink, hand sinks, mop sink
• Circulation paths and ADA aisle clearances labeled
• Seating optimized for maximum feasible occupancy within code and flow
(Do not cap seating arbitrarily — propose what the space reasonably supports)
• Separate patio seating plan
⸻
2) Full 3D Renderings – Every Space (Required)
I want clear renderings of every functional space, not just highlight shots.
Minimum expectations:
• Bar area (behind-bar + guest-facing view)
• Lounge seating area
• Café / Stage room (show seating + stage relationship)
• Kitchen / prep area (ventless setup shown clearly)
• Bathrooms (simple but intentional finishes)
• Exterior + patio (signage + seating context)
Renderings should show:
• Lighting intent
• Furniture placement
• Equipment placement where relevant
• Materiality and vibe (modern / cozy / lounge-forward)
These do not need to be hyper-photorealistic, but they must be accurate, spatially believable, and decision-grade.
⸻
3) “Vision Build Sheet” – Everything Needed to Execute
Provide a single consolidated specification list that includes:
• All commercial equipment (espresso machine, grinders, ventless oven, refrigeration, sinks, ice, POS areas)
• Furniture types and approximate quantities
• Lighting fixtures (style + intent)
• Paint colors / wall finishes / ceiling finishes
• Bar front + shelving materials
• Signage concepts and materials
• Any specialty items required to achieve the design
No pricing or sourcing required.
Just tell me what needs to be bought to build this vision.
⸻
4) DBPR & Contractor-Usable Notes
• Plans organized cleanly enough to support DBPR plan review submission
• Equipment list usable as DBPR attachment
• Finish notes for food prep and service areas
• Basic rough-in notes (power / water / drain requirements) to allow contractor pricing
(No stamped drawings required)
⸻
Key Design Restraints (Important)
These are non-negotiable and meant to keep the design buildable:
• No wall removal or structural changes
• Ventless kitchen only (no hood, no fryer)
• Minimize plumbing changes — assume existing locations where possible
• Design should be achievable using used/refurb equipment + DIY finishes
• Focus on flow, ambiance, seating density, and warmth, not luxury excess
Vision matters — but it must be executable.
⸻
What You’ll Receive From Me
• Existing floor plan + photos (see attached)
• Brand tone and vibe direction
• Menu framework (drinks + light food)
⸻
Ideal Designer
• Proven bar / café / hospitality experience
• Comfortable specifying commercial equipment
• Thinks in terms of workflow and guest experience
• Bonus: Florida DBPR familiarity
• Bonus: Tampa / Pinellas local (paid site visit optional)
⸻
How to Apply (Required)
1. Portfolio with relevant hospitality projects
2. Flat project price + timeline
3. Short note describing one way you’d improve flow or seating density
4. Confirm you understand: you design the vision and specs; I handle sourcing and budget execution
⸻
We’re building a place people linger — not rush through.
Warm, social, intentional.
If this project goes well, there will be future work as we expand.
