3D Scan of Vent Window Seal with modeling to CAD File: Reverse Engineering

Budget: $750 – $1,500 USD

PROBLEM: I have a triangular vent window seal for a Vehicle that is no longer made. The project involves scanning the seal. The seal is approximately 14" high x 12" at the base & 1" thick. The seal has holes & deep recesses.
YOUR DELIVERABLES PART I: SCAN this seal, and import the scan into modeling software with a front end that works well with scan data. Correct Seal imperfections within the modeling software. Part two of modeling is to make the file manufacturing friendly. While some modeling software works fine in producing a cad file, I am not looking for one "dumb" file. I want planes and cylinders and relationships well established within the model as though it was going to be made by CNC milling because it will be AND because the obverse of this piece would be the mold to produce it less vents, and sprues
Once imperfections are corrected to my satisfaction your output will be to a CAD file I can use to produce the part on a mill, or, you may choose to mill or cut the part in hard plastic and send it to me: additive printing is not acceptable. If you choose to produce the part your quote must include shipping the ORIGINAL AND MASTER back to 17551 in the US insured via DHL or Fed Ex
MY PROCESS: I have already made a mold box from the original piece. When your master arrives, I will install it in the mold box and pour with silicone. Once cured, I will strip the MASTER from the Silicone Mold. I will then fill the MASTER mold w/ rubber & produce a FIRST PIECE. I would then send you the first piece.
YOUR DELIVERABLES PART II: Upon receipt of FIRST PIECE you would scan it. You will then compare The FIRST PIECE AND MASTER FILES in software like polyworks or similar so I can determine the degree of conformity from master to the first piece. The project ends with the production and delivery of the comparison and inspection report.
YOUR PROPOSAL PART 1: HARDWARE Your proposal must state scanner make and model. Similar successful scans have been done by others using Creaform or Zeiss or Artek hardware. You might even pull this off with an einscan. Ideal scanner capability would be 25 to 50 microns as 100 is likely sufficient.
YOUR PROPOSAL PART II: SOFTWARE Your proposal has to include. the names of the modeling software you intend to use to produce a workable scan file. Your deliverables are ALL the files, sketches, iterations, versions of your work to get to the end file to produce the MASTER and all of the files, sketches, iterations, versions of the report of inspection of the FIRST PIECE.
YOUR PROPOSAL PART III PAYMENT: What is your price?
YOUR PROPOSAL PART IV TIMING: 1. How soon to INITIAL SCAN FILE? 2. HOW soon to MASTER FILE DELIVERY? How soon to FIRST PART SCAN AND FILE DELIVERY? HOW soon to File comparison and inspection report?
PAYMENT: PAYMENT 1 when you deliver the MASTER FILE. PAYMENT 2. When you deliver the SCAN File of the FIRST PIECE. 3. FINAL PAYMENT When you deliver a software generated comparison report between the two files.
MORE WORK: Additional contracts for further work on refining the project to a corrected finished piece. Ideal scanner capability would be 25 to 50 microns as 100 is likely sufficient.
