Realistic Urban Chameleon Animation
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I have six scenes and I want to add and animate a chameleon. In one scene, it will only walk on the ground, and in the rest, it will be on the actor's shoulder. To clarify, the actor doesn't move; he only holds the phone. However, the chameleon's movements must be smooth and realistic, and its skin should glow like a UV light.
Each shot is already edited and locked. You’ll receive the camera-tracked plates (4K, 24 fps) and a reference cut showing the intended timing. Your task is to model or adapt a high-detail chameleon, rig it if needed, animate the motion and colour-change cycles, light and render so it matches the footage, then composite it seamlessly.
Deliverables
• Final composited clips for all six scenes (ProRes 4444 or EXR sequence)
• Separate clean renders of the chameleon with alpha for potential re-grading
• All working project files: scene, rig, textures, colour-driven shaders, and animation data
Acceptance criteria
• Movement reads as lifelike—weight shifts, toe grips, eye flicks, micro head tilts.
• Colour transitions are smooth, timed to environmental cues, and free from flicker.
• Integration passes a frame-by-frame inspection under varied exposure. No visible edges, mismatched grain, or lighting gaps.
Preferred tools are Blender, Maya, Houdini, or a comparable high-end 3D package with ACES colour workflow; open to your expertise as long as the end result holds up in a close-up theatre screening. Let me know your approach and estimated turnaround once you’ve had a look at the reference material.
