Modern Dining Room Design

I have a dining room that guests enter through off of my foyer. It feels partially done to me, and I'd like some assistance with finishing touches. The only things that I don't want to change are the blue paint color on the wall and the large piece of art currently on the wall. Everything else can be changed. There are currently no curtains or window treatments. I tend to lean towards contemporary/modern items and often shop at West Elm, CB2, etc. I am not afraid of bold patterns and choices but I can't seem to figure out how to make this space amazing. I know I've never really loved these dining chairs.
