Minimalist Open-Plan Apartment Redesign

Job ID: 40426014

Budget: €30 – €250 EUR

I have just purchased a new apartment created by joining two neighbouring units. Two people will live here and I want the space to feel calm, open and minimal. The top priority is the living room and kitchen, which I would like to fuse into one generous, open-plan zone bathed in natural light and supported by smart, unobtrusive storage.

Current layout highlights
• Two entrances. I can seal or remove one.
• Two bathrooms; I only need one full bathroom. The second room could become a stand-alone WC or be absorbed for extra floor area.
• A small bedroom and the right-side and bathroom can be demolished if that gives us the spacious kitchen-living area I’m after.

Design goals
1. Produce at least two layout options showing where the single full bathroom, possible WC, kitchen and living areas sit. One option may keep the bathroom where it is; another may shift it to the spot originally reserved for the kitchen in the second apartment.
2. Maximise natural light and circulation routes; no bulky partitions.
3. Integrate hidden or built-in storage so surfaces remain uncluttered.
4. Maintain a clean, minimal aesthetic (think muted palette, simple lines, few but high-impact materials).

Deliverables
• Scaled floor plans (PDF + editable CAD) for each proposed option
• 3D visualisations or SketchUp/3ds Max renders that capture the open-plan feel, light and material palette
• Furniture and built-in storage plan with dimensions
• Bathroom relocation drawings with plumbing notes and a brief feasibility comment

I will provide the original architectural drawings on award. Please use common design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp or similar so revisions are straightforward. My ideal timeline for first concepts is one week after project start, with final files delivered two weeks later.
