Food Cart Design (from a first version)
Budget: $30 – $250 USD
### FOOD CART RE-DESIGN BRIEF
**General Context:**
We have developed an initial concept for a food cart dedicated to showcasing and selling premium oysters from Morocco. The cart is designed for use in hypermarkets and supermarkets, aiming to highlight the brand’s premium image while maintaining functionality and practicality.
The task involves improving and refining the existing concept by making it more visually appealing, functional, and aligned with the brand’s positioning. The designer should ensure the re-design is manufacturable, cost-effective, and simple to implement.
---
### **Design Objectives**
1. **General Structure**
- The design should refine the current concept, prioritizing stability, functionality, and aesthetic appeal.
- Remove the wheel mechanism and focus on a stationary, stable design.
- Propose two variations of the design, keeping manufacturability and cost-efficiency in mind.
2. **Dimensions**
- Use the dimensions provided in the initial draft as a foundation.
- Add a foldable side shelf on the **left side**, measuring 1 meter in length, with a stable supporting foot.
- Incorporate four open shelves at the back of the cart for storage, ensuring accessibility and practicality.
3. **Visual Identity**
- Retain the brand’s existing color scheme for a consistent look.
- Prominently display the text **"Huîtres de Dakhla"** on the front of the cart, replacing the previous text "Les perles de Dakhla." Use a clean, stylish font that is easily readable from a distance.
- Include a short tagline on the **left side panel**:
**Raffinement et fraîcheur, signés Dakhla.**
4. **Design Simplicity**
- Ensure the design is clean, minimalist, and premium, reflecting the brand’s identity.
- Keep all text, shapes, and visual elements simple, bold, and clear.
5. **Functional and Technical Details**
- Focus on practical elements such as durable materials suitable for food handling and daily use in supermarkets.
- Ensure the foldable shelf is seamlessly integrated into the design and can withstand regular use.
- Maintain easy access for staff by keeping shelves open and uncluttered.
---
### **Deliverables**
- Two design options showcasing different approaches to the cart’s refinement.
- Front, side, and top views for each design.
- Clear placement of branding and text elements.
- Visual representation of the foldable shelf in use.
---
**Additional Notes:**
The goal is to achieve a premium yet simple design that elevates the cart’s appearance while ensuring it is practical for daily operations. If further clarification or adjustments are needed, please do not hesitate to ask.
