Design 3d Product configurator for storefronts, doors and windows in Unreal Engine or similar free/ open source environment that can draw out CAD elevation by itself based on input parameters and shoot out bill of materials.

Job ID: 37654485

Budget: $10,000 – $20,000 USD

Design 3d Product configurator for doors and windows in Unreal Engine or similar free/ open source environment that can draw out CAD elevation by itself based on input parameters and shoot out bill of materials.

We are looking for a skilled developer who can design a 3D product configurator for doors and windows. The configurator should be created in either Unreal Engineor a similar free/open source environment.

Platform Preference: There is no preference for the platform as long as it meets the requirements of the project.

CAD Designs: We already have specific CAD designs ready for the configurator, these are our extrusion sticks (parts that make doors) in CAD environment.

Input Parameters: The configurator should be able to take dimensions and measurements as input parameters.

The ideal candidate for this project should have experience in 3D modeling and rendering, as well as proficiency in Unreal Engine or a similar environment. They should also have a strong understanding of CAD designs and be able to integrate them into the configurator. Attention to detail and the ability to accurately generate a bill of materials based on the input parameters are also important skills for this job.

Candidate must be able to communicate in English language well.
Similar past experience will be preferred.

Please understand that the expertise for this project is quite large. You will need to design a product configurator space where an end user would go and type out or select parameters such as width or length of the door or window, which could be any size, and include various of hardware. The software would draw that door or window out based on these inputs of the user, using correct components(materials) then when things are final, it would shoot out price as well as bill of materials.

It seems to me that the candidate must have knowledge in 3D modeling software as well as CAD software, having some manufacturing knowledge as well.

The software endeavor involves the development of a sophisticated 3D product configurator application, designed to enable users to interactively customize and visualize complex products, particularly those with intricate configurations such as doors, storefronts, curtainwalls and windows. The primary objective is to provide a seamless and immersive user experience, allowing individuals to dynamically adjust product specifications, dimensions, materials, and other attributes within a three-dimensional virtual environment. The software will draw the elevations for the user based on the typed-in parameters such as width, height. The software will facilitate a realistic representation of products. The configurator not only accommodates dynamic adjustments but also incorporates the functionality to generate a comprehensive Bill of Materials (BOM) upon completion of the configuration process. With cut lengths of aluminum extrusion material to be optimized across specified batch.

Here is a good example but we are looking for a smaller/simpler idea. Videos are available there as well.
