Commercial Theatre Architectural Design and Rendering
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I am looking for a skilled architectural designer experienced with commercial theatre design. I need a commercial theatre designed with at least six visual renderings including the theatre house, lobby, and exterior. The theatre will seat around 1000. The design will begin with a single open span structure divided into three sections: lobby, theatre house, stage / backstage. The lobby will include a ticket office, retail gift shop, concessions, and restrooms. I can provide suggestions of arrangement but don't have specific requirements. My preference is for the theatre house to have raked seating in the front transitioning to stadium style seating in the back. The theatre will have a proscenium stage but will not have a fly loft. All construction must be above ground so the stage and lobby area will likely need to be elevated to allow for raked seating. My preferred building structure consists of a rigid steel frame with fabric walls. I have attached a suggested building construction plan which can be modified in terms of length, width and height as needed. Some type of front facade will need to be added for aesthetic value which will likely be constructed with traditional building materials. I have attached a photo of an example interior and exterior of a similarly constructed building frame. The purpose of this project is to produce an initial visual concept design of a theatre. The expectation is that the design will evolve over time as the project progresses. Therefore, the initial design doesn't need to be designed to any specific specs or codes. Other than my building structure and house seating preferences mentioned above, all else is open to designer creativity. I don't have any specific requirements for color palettes, interior design, front facade design, etc. It just needs to look professional with a low building and maintenance cost. This type of theatre is meant to be functional not ornate and ornamental as would be expected with a typical performing arts center. If you have specific experience in theatre design, I would love to hear form you! I would also appreciate seeing examples of your work if possible. I look forward to working with you.
