Carriage House Design
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 CAD
We have some beautiful mountain property by a river that we want to eventually build a cabin on. In the meantime, we want to build a carriage house (garage on lower level with a 2 bedroom suite above). Since this is just phase 1 of our project with the larger cabin to come later, we really want to begin with the end in mind and design it accordingly. We have the interior layout for both lower and upper floors designed of this carriage house (measurements, layout, etc., on our design software), but are looking for someone to draw up the exterior and blue prints.
We are attaching the layout of our carriage house. Please note - the square footage of the living space cannot exceed 990 sq. ft. Our design is listed at 986 sq. ft. excluding the stair well and this is permissible.
Attached is a photo of the exterior of a carriage house that somewhat captures the style that we like. Our design however, has a full second floor with 8' walls and cathedral ceilings, so we realize that the design will be different, but we are hoping we can capture that look/style. It is crucial to us that the designer has creativity and preferably experience for this type of project.
We've also attached a few completely different designs that we would be open to and like, if it's more condusive to the design of the floor plan. We have to keep in mind what style we like for cabins so that it can tie in once we build that. *Blue prints will have to be to Province of Alberta Canada building codes and best practices.
