Node.js / TypeScript App Diagnostics & Repair
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
Project: Fix Existing Node.js / TypeScript App (Amazon SP-API Integration)
Overview:
We have an existing, fully functional Node.js + TypeScript web application that integrates with the Amazon SP-API to pull, process, and analyze product data.
The system was working perfectly until a previous development team shut down our Google Cloud VMs. After turning the servers back on, the application no longer operates as expected. The exact cause of the issue is currently unknown.
We need an experienced backend developer to investigate and restore full functionality.
Tech Stack and Environment
Node.js + TypeScript
Amazon SP-API (ProductPricing, CatalogItems, Fees, etc.)
MongoDB database
Hosted on Google Cloud VMs (approximately 30 instances)
May use Redis or a job queue system for distributed processing
Frontend: React (TypeScript)
Responsibilities
Diagnose why the system stopped functioning after VM restart
Restore communication between backend services and worker VMs
Review and repair SP-API authentication, rate limiting, and data fetching
Identify any missing environment variables, startup scripts, or dependencies
Ensure data flows correctly from SP-API to MongoDB and frontend
Provide a brief technical summary of the fix
Ideal Candidate
Strong experience with Node.js and TypeScript
In-depth knowledge of Amazon SP-API integration
Familiarity with MongoDB and distributed architectures
Experience working with Google Cloud Platform (Compute Engine VMs)
Capable of debugging multi-server applications and asynchronous job systems
Project Status
All code and infrastructure already exist
No rebuild required — focus is on debugging and restoring functionality
