Enhance Existing Node.js App

I’m looking for a seasoned Node.js developer to extend the functionality of my current application. The project is already in production and comes with a well-structured codebase plus up-to-date documentation, so you’ll be able to dive straight in without guesswork.

What I need added
• User authentication – secure sign-up / login, token handling (JWT or similar) and role-based access.
• Real-time updates – WebSocket or Socket.IO integration so clients receive instant data pushes without refresh.
• Data processing – background jobs or stream handling to crunch incoming data efficiently before it hits the API.

You’ll have direct access to the repository, the API spec, and a short architectural overview. I’m open to your input on tooling (TypeScript, Express, Redis, message queues, etc.) as long as the end result is clean, well-tested code that plugs smoothly into the existing stack.

Deliverables
1. Feature branches merged via pull request with clear commit history.
2. Unit / integration tests for each new module.
3. Updated README and inline comments where behaviour changes.
4. A brief hand-off call or recorded walkthrough to close the loop.
