Deploy redis to run metarank

I'm a computer newbie but I wanted to test out a few open source recommendation engines - Metarank and raccoon but I'm not able to figure out how to test it in my local. Unable to deploy redis. Needed some expertise.
This I'm presuming will require very basic redis knowledge and some programming skill from terminal.
