Enterprise Linux Server Management

I need an experienced Linux administrator who can take complete, ongoing care of our Ubuntu and Red Hat Enterprise Linux servers.

Your day-to-day focus will start with proactive health monitoring, taking OS/Ignite backups before and after every critical change, and keeping each machine fully patched. You will manage users, groups and sudoers, schedule cron jobs, and work with our security team to embed the quality password standards we have agreed upon.

Good troubleshooting skills are essential: when an OS or hardware issue surfaces you will diagnose the root cause, open tickets and chase resolutions with Dell, EMC, Wipro ES Care, Oracle or IBM until closure. Hardening each server to industry best practice is part of the brief as well.

The environment also includes a Jenkins pipeline that triggers password resets and user provisioning; you will maintain and, when necessary, extend those jobs. On the virtualisation side, you will create and clone KVM hosts for web and application tiers, then expand CPU, RAM or LVM-backed storage on demand.

I value clear, concise documentation of every change and expect you to suggest improvements whenever you see the chance to reduce risk or downtime.
