Configure IPSec VPN for FreePBX
Budget: $10 – $30 USD
I have two offices running FreePBX on Red Hat-based servers and I need their phone systems talking to each other over a stable IPSec tunnel. The goal is simple: voice calls must flow seamlessly between both sites as if they were on the same local network.
The tunnel has to be built on Linux (Red Hat/CentOS stream). StrongSwan or libreswan are both fine as long as they let FreePBX register extensions and pass SIP/RTP without audio drops, one-way sound, or unexpected NAT issues. Once the tunnel is up, trunks and extensions in FreePBX should auto-discover across the link and allow direct calling.
Deliverable: a working IPSec site-to-site VPN with both FreePBX servers successfully exchanging VoIP traffic, verified by test calls in both directions.
I will provide root SSH access to each server, the public IPs, and whatever pre-shared keys or certificates you prefer to use. Please outline any firewall ports that must stay open so I can update perimeter rules.
If you have solid experience marrying IPSec with FreePBX and can demonstrate it through previous work or quick diagnostics, I’m ready to get started right away and will be responsive for testing.
