I need a lawyer

Hi, I just got a lease for myself and the community asked for my wife’s SSN. Since she doesn’t have one, they are asking me to fill out a form asking about her legal status in the US. The information which usually asked by the USCIS and not a landlord. I refused to disclose this personal information since I feel they are not entitled to ask for such information and going beyond their authority. They are now saying if I refused to fill out the information, they will not update the lease with my wife’s name. By the way, my wife’s name is on the resident portal as co-resident.
