Freelance Project Proposal: On-Demand E-Waste & Scrap Collection App
Project Overview
We are looking for a freelance developer (or small team) to build a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) for an on-demand e-waste and scrap collection mobile application (similar to "EcoScrap" / "ScrapX"). The application must support three distinct user roles, multi-language localization, and a dynamic price calculation engine based on scrap weight and categories.
Core Features & Scope of Work
1. User Roles & Workflows
• Customer App/Interface: * Mobile number login with simple OTP verification.
• Browse localized scrap categories with clear visual icons: Electronics (laptops, mobile phones, components), Metals (copper wires, aluminum utensils), Batteries (mobile, automotive, dry cells), and Large Appliances (ACs, refrigerators).
• Input item quantity (in kilograms or pieces) and item condition to view an automated, real-time price estimation.
• Add items to a cart and request a pickup by choosing a date, time slot, and sharing location via GPS or manual address entry.
• Track active order status (Pending \rightarrow Assigned \rightarrow Picked \rightarrow Completed).
• Vendor / Scrap Collector Interface:
• View and accept incoming pickup requests assigned to their territory.
• Access customer location coordinates for routing.
• Collect scrap, facilitate payment confirmation (Cash on Pickup or UPI), and update order status to "Completed."
• Admin Dashboard:
• Complete control over managing users, verifying vendors, and tracking active/past orders.
• Dynamic Pricing Management: Ability for the admin to dynamically set and update the baseline per-KG or per-piece rate for every single scrap item in the system.
2. Critical Localization Requirements
• Language Support: The entire frontend user interface must feature an easily accessible toggle for three languages: English, Hindi, and Marathi. The UI must be highly intuitive, visual, and simple enough for local scrap collectors ("bhangarwalas") to operate without friction.
Preferred Tech Stack
We are open to recommendation, but prefer a lean, fast-to-deploy stack:
• Frontend: Cross-platform mobile (React Native / Flutter) OR a highly responsive, mobile-first Web App (HTML/CSS/JS or React) that can be wrapped into an Android WebView APK.
• Backend: Node.js with Express.js.
• Database: MongoDB (Atlas).
• Authentication: OTP-based mobile authentication gateway.
Out of Scope (Phase 2 Features)
Note: Do not include the following features in your current quote:
• AI-based scrap detection via image uploads.
• Live commodity market rate API integration.
