Vehicle Check-In Mobile App
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I’m building a straightforward mobile app that lets technicians at our upfitter shops check vehicles in the moment they arrive. The app must run natively on both iOS and Android, share a single codebase where practical, and authenticate users with a simple email-and-password flow. Once signed in, a technician needs only one screen to complete the intake: scan or type the VIN, snap a few photos, add mileage and notes, then hit “Submit.” That action should timestamp the record and push it to a small cloud back-end so office staff can pull the data later.
I’m flexible on stack—React Native, Flutter or Kotlin/Swift + a lightweight REST or Firebase back-end all work for me—as long as the result is stable, quick to load, and easy for us to hand off to future internal devs.
Deliverables
• iOS build (TestFlight‐ready) and Android APK/AAB
• Source code with clear README and environment files
• Simple back-end (hosted or containerised) with endpoints for login and vehicle intake
• Basic admin panel or export script so we can view the day’s check-ins in a browser or CSV
Acceptance
• User can create an account, log in, log out, and reset a password via email link
• Vehicle intake form submits in under three seconds on LTE and persists when offline until connectivity returns
• Photo capture supports at least three images per vehicle and compresses them before upload
• Code passes linting/tests and builds cleanly on both platforms using documented steps
