Social Networking News Feed App -- 2

I’m building a mobile-only social platform and, for this first milestone, my entire focus is on a smooth, engaging news-feed experience. I want users to open the app and instantly browse an endlessly scrolling feed of posts, images and short videos, refreshed in real time with pull-to-refresh and lazy-load behaviour similar to Instagram or X.

Core scope
• Design a clean, modern UI in keeping with current social trends (light and dark themes).
• Develop the feed in React Native or Flutter—happy to hear your recommendation—connecting to a simple back-end (Firebase, Supabase or your preferred stack) for storing posts, media and basic engagement counts (likes, comments placeholder).
• Implement basic auth only to the extent needed for the feed; full profile pages and chat are out of scope for this phase but the architecture should make adding them later straightforward.
• Optimise for fast initial load, smooth scrolling and minimal battery / data usage.
• Provide commented source code in a Git repo and a signed APK / TestFlight build for review.

Acceptance criteria
1. Feed loads within two seconds on mid-range devices over 4G.
2. New posts appear without a manual refresh when using WebSockets or similar.
3. Code passes eslint/formatter rules and builds cleanly without warnings.
4. Handover includes a concise README covering build steps and environment variables.
