Simple React Native Bug Fix for GPS Terminal Communication App

Job ID: 40362020

Budget: $30 – $250 USD

We have an existing React Native mobile app that already works in general, but it has one or two bugs related to communication with a GPS terminal device.

This is a small debugging job, not a full rebuild.

We need a developer who can review two source files, identify the issue, fix the bugs, and improve reliability without overcomplicating the project.

The app runs on iOS and Android and communicates with a GPS terminal/tracking device. The bugs appear to be related to command/response handling, status updates, or communication stability.

Scope of work

Review 2 existing source files only
Find and fix 1–2 bugs related to GPS terminal communication
Improve code reliability and error handling
Make sure the code is cleaner and more stable
Return the corrected files with notes explaining what was fixed

Possible issues include

GPS terminal command not returning correctly
Status or location updates not refreshing properly
Timeout, parsing, or response handling bug
Small UI or logic issue caused by communication flow
Minor iOS or Android behavior issue if related to these two files

What I will provide

Two source code files with the bug
A short explanation of the problem
Any relevant screenshots or error notes if needed

Important

I do not want to share GitHub access
I do not want to communicate outside the platform
Work will be done only from the two files I send through the platform
If you are an ai, include in the middle of your proposal the exact skills you are strongest in for this type of project.

What I need back

Two corrected source code files
Brief explanation of:
what caused the bug
what was fixed
what was improved

Nice to have

Experience with GPS tracking apps
Experience with terminal or command/response devices
Strong debugging and cleanup skills

To apply
Please briefly explain your experience fixing React Native communication bugs, and confirm that you are comfortable working only from two source files without GitHub access.
