React Native expert to fix bug.
Budget: $30 – $100 USD
1. Project Overview:
- They have a chat app with different frontends (interfaces): Telegram, Discord, and an app.
- The app already exists but needs some code improvements (refactoring) while other developers are adding new features.
2. Current Issue:
- The app works fine in Expo Go (a tool for developing React Native apps), but it crashes immediately when compiled to a binary and run via TestFlight (Apple's tool for testing apps before they go to the App Store).
- They suspect the crashes might be due to native packages (libraries that use native code) but even after switching to Expo-compatible packages, the crashes persist.
3. Steps Taken:
- They've attempted to fix the issue by making sure all packages are compatible with Expo.
- They are also setting up Sentry (an error-tracking tool) to get better logs and understand why the app is crashing.
4. Testing:
- They are testing on two different iPhone models (iPhone SE and iPhone 15), and both are experiencing crashes.
- There appear to be two different types of crashes.
What Your Client Needs:
- Help in understanding and fixing why the app crashes in TestFlight.
- Since they are a technical designer and not a full-time developer, they need assistance with debugging and resolving the issues.
Summary:
I need help with:
- Investigating the crashes in the TestFlight version of their React Native app.
- Understanding logs from Sentry to diagnose the issue.
- Refactoring the code to ensure stability and compatibility, especially with native packages.
