React Native: Updating state in context is triggering the navigation to go back

I have a function which sets a state in my context layer. When this function is called from a child component, the screen of the child goes back and I'm not sure why (maybe the stack is being rerendered?). I need an experienced React developer to help me understand why via Zoom/Teams/Google Meets where I can screen share and for them to provide an elegant solution.
