React Native Social App Build

I’m building a new social networking application in React Native that must run smoothly on both iOS and Android from a single code-base. The core experience focuses on connection and content sharing, so the first milestone is a clean, scalable foundation that already supports the three essential features:

• Messaging system (real-time, one-to-one and group)
• User profiles (photo, bio, follow/unfollow)
• Photo / video sharing (upload, feed, basic reactions)

Code quality matters more than quick hacks. Components should be fully typed, navigation handled with React Navigation, and state managed predictably—Redux Toolkit or Zustand is fine as long as it’s consistent. I’ll wire up Firebase for auth and storage myself, but your code should expose clear hooks so I can drop those services in without refactor pain.

A short test suite with Jest and React Native Testing Library is required for the critical user flows above, plus concise README instructions covering environment setup and running the app on both platforms. I’d like weekly progress updates through a GitHub repo so I can review commits and UI builds in Expo or a release APK/IPA.
