React Native Expo Migration Fixes

Job ID: 39812161

Budget: $10 – $30 USD

I’m maintaining a two-year-old React Native codebase that now needs to live inside a modern Expo workflow. After the initial merge I’m hitting performance-related crashes whenever users trigger certain actions (never on cold start, never totally at random).

The immediate goal is to pinpoint what in the legacy code or its dependencies causes these action-based crashes, then patch it so the app runs reliably under the latest React Native + Expo SDK. Along the way I expect some refactoring to align older libraries, Gradle settings, and iOS/Android build configs with current Expo requirements.

Deliverables I need from you:
• Reproduce and log the crash pathway in the merged environment.
• Implement fixes or work-arounds that remove the crash without introducing regressions.
• Supply a clean, version-controlled commit or PR plus build instructions that compile successfully in both Android Studio and Xcode using the current Expo CLI.
• A brief summary of what changed and why, so I can maintain it moving forward.

If you are comfortable digging through legacy React Native code, updating mismatched packages, and using Expo’s debugging tools to squash hard crashes, let’s get this resolved quickly.
