React Native / Expo Developer Needed

7-Day Sprint to Polish & Ship a Mobile App (Non-Profit)

We’re looking for an experienced React Native / Expo developer to help us finalize and ship an existing mobile app. This is not a from-scratch build — the app is functional and well underway. We need help refining performance, completing integrations, and preparing for release.

Source code is ready and available immediately.

About the App

The app combines two core experiences:

A daily puzzle game — grid-based, touch-driven gameplay with a short interactive sequence after completion.

A utility layer — a simple request-and-claim flow where authenticated users can view, claim, and log activity via a dashboard.

Current State

Built with React Native / Expo (Expo Go tested, targeting EAS builds)

Core puzzle mechanics are complete and working

Post-completion interaction phase is functional but needs refinement

App size and assets already optimized

Deterministic puzzle generation in place

UI foundation and navigation patterns established

Existing SQL database with live request data

Existing SSO/authentication flow connected to our website

Existing database schema for user activity logging

What We Need Done (7-Day Scope)
Performance & UX Polish

Improve touch responsiveness and gesture handling (no lag or floatiness)

Smooth animations and transitions

Remove remaining performance bottlenecks

Refine post-completion interaction logic so it feels intuitive and polished

Tune haptic feedback to highlight key moments only

Request Integration

Connect to existing SQL endpoints to display open requests

Present requests in a clean, browsable list

Allow authenticated users to claim requests

Login & Dashboard UI

Integrate with existing SSO flow

Detect active users vs. new users and handle accordingly

Surface existing database fields so users can:

Upload before/after photos

Log location, hours, and date

Add notes or a short description of the work

(All fields and schema already exist — this is UI and integration work only.)

Publish Prep

Ensure EAS build readiness for iOS

Final QA pass for edge cases and device responsiveness

The app is already built and working. We’re bringing in a freelancer purely to accelerate the final push so we can ship within a week. We’re hands-on, familiar with the codebase, and available to support quickly.

Strong React Native + Expo experience (mobile-focused)

Comfortable with gesture handling and animation libraries

Experience optimizing mobile performance

Familiar with integrating existing APIs, SQL-backed services, and auth flows

Can work independently and communicate progress daily

Bonus: experience shipping apps via EAS to App Store
