Mobile app and web based tool development for Biomass Data collection and Empowering Women Farmers

This proposal outlines the development of a web and mobile portal aimed at collecting and managing data on biomass availability across different regions, with a special focus on empowering women farmers. The proposed project aligns with the objectives of promoting sustainable agricultural practices and improving the economic status of women in rural areas
Project Objectives
• Develop a comprehensive portal to gather, manage, and analyse data on biomass availability by region.
• Empower women farmers by enabling them to participate in the data collection process, thereby enhancing their digital literacy and economic opportunities.
• Facilitate the collection of disaggregated data through user-friendly web and mobile applications available in multiple Indian languages to accommodate diverse linguistic backgrounds.
• Support decision-making by providing accurate, real-time data to stakeholders, including researchers, policymakers, and industry professionals
Some of the key features are
1. Use GIS technology to map the locations of biomass resources. The GIS component will be integrated into the portal to provide visual data on biomass distribution. Collaborate with local agricultural universities and research institutions to populate the database with accurate and up-to-date information.
2. Develop offline functionality (5 days storage) by caching essential data on the user's device, allowing for continued use even in areas with poor or no internet connectivity.
3. App should support multiple languages like Marathi, Hindi, English and Tamil.
4. App should be built on cross platform to support both Andorid and iOS
5. Web page will provide access to the reporting, data visulization of biomass across country
6. Integrate Carbon foot print calculation for different type of biomss
5. User (Farmer), Buyer, Admin and Super Admin roles
Examples of Existing Tools:
o Cool Farm Tool: A widely used calculator developed by the Cool Farm Alliance, which helps farmers assess the environmental impact of their farming practices, including carbon footprint. It uses specific emission factors for different types of biomass and farming activities, making it a suitable reference model for our calculator.
