MVP Development for Resource Connect Web App

Job ID: 40224166

Budget: $25 – $50 USD

Project: Resource Connect – MVP Development for Field Testing
Resource Connect is a website application designed to bridge the gap between individuals in need and the nonprofit organizations that serve them. The platform will make it easier for community members to locate essential services—such as food assistance, healthcare, housing support, and legal aid—while giving nonprofits a streamlined way to share resources, manage engagement, and understand emerging community needs.
We are entering the next phase of development: building the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) that will be deployed for field testing in Northwest Indiana. This MVP will translate our finalized Figma prototype into a functional, test‑ready application and will include the core features necessary to validate usability, value, and impact in real‑world settings.
Project Objectives
The contractor will support the development of the Resource Connect MVP with the following goals:
Implement the finalized Web App design into a functional mobile application
Build and refine core features, including:
Resource search and directory
Appointment scheduling and application submission
Push notifications for nonprofit updates
Personalized resource filtering
Integrate and prepare the data‑collection algorithm that powers the Community Needs Tracker
Ensure the MVP is stable, intuitive, and ready for field testing with community‑based organizations
Collaborate with the founder and, once hired, the Purdue Pathmaker intern developer to ensure smooth handoff and continuity
Scope of Work
The contractor will be responsible for:
Translating UI/UX designs into responsive, accessible mobile screens
Developing backend logic and API connections needed for core functionality
Implementing user authentication and secure data handling practices
Building the initial version of the Community Needs Tracker algorithm
Conducting basic QA testing and resolving issues prior to field deployment
Providing technical documentation to support future development and maintenance

Expected Deliverables
Fully functional MVP aligned with the Web App prototype
Implemented core features ready for real‑world testing
Initial version of the data‑collection algorithm integrated into the app
Technical documentation (architecture, APIs, codebase overview)
Support for deployment to test users in Northwest Indiana
Ideal Contractor Qualifications
Experience building mobile applications (React Native, Flutter, or similar)
Strong understanding of backend development and API integration
Familiarity with data‑collection systems or algorithmic tracking tools
Ability to collaborate with early‑stage teams and mentor junior developers
