Smart farming covers the management of crop pests and diseases to ensure effective economic returns to farmers. One of the efforts is to develop an Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategy based on smart agriculture to help improve the effectiveness of farmers in decision making in pest management.
The development of IPM's strategy is to use the concept of smart agriculture that focuses on the management of the main pest of cocoa, namely the Cocoa Pod Borer (CPB). CPB is a major cocoa pest faced by farmers in Malaysia including Southeast Asia. This strategy in the effective management of CPB will be made through decision -making method based on monitoring the population density of CPB eggs in the farm known as Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Mobile App.
