Instagram-Style Social App Development
Budget: $1,500 – $3,000 USD
I’m preparing to release a mobile-first social network that reproduces the familiar Instagram experience while leaving room for new features later on. The job covers the entire build cycle—from architecture and UI/UX to deployment—so I’m looking for someone (or a small team) comfortable owning the full stack.
Core scope
• Cross-platform mobile app (iOS and Android) built in React Native, Flutter, or a similar modern framework
• Media handling: high-resolution photo and video capture, editing (basic filters, crop, trim), and cloud storage integration (AWS S3, Firebase Storage, etc.)
• Dynamic home feed that can be switched between chronological and algorithmic once the ranking logic is defined
• User accounts with profile pages, avatar upload, bio, and the ability to follow/unfollow
• Social interactions: likes, comments, repost/share, and push notifications
• In-app real-time chat using WebSockets or a service such as Firebase RTDB / Firestore
• Stories-style ephemeral posts (24-hour lifetime)
• Robust admin dashboard for content moderation, analytics, and user management
• Scalable backend (Node.js, Django, or similar) with REST/GraphQL API, JWT or OAuth-based authentication, and CDN-backed media delivery
• CI/CD pipeline plus guidance for App Store and Google Play submissions
Acceptance criteria
1. App passes Apple/Google review and is live in both stores.
2. All listed features perform smoothly on mid-range devices with no critical crashes during a 30-minute stress test.
3. Source code, build scripts, and infrastructure as code are delivered in a private Git repository with clear README instructions.
4. Admin dashboard supports role-based access and real-time content removal.
5. Basic analytics (DAU, MAU, session length) displayed in the admin panel.
Please outline your proposed tech stack, timeline, and any previous work on social or media-rich apps when you respond.
