Cross-Platform Social Networking App

Job ID: 40317088

Budget: €8 – €1,000 EUR

I need a fully-featured social networking application released simultaneously on iOS and Android. The core idea is to let users discover, connect, and interact in real time, so performance and a polished, intuitive interface are essential.

Core functionality
• Messaging system: real-time one-to-one and group chat with push notifications, read receipts, and basic media attachments.
• Friends/Followers system: bi-directional “friends” or one-way “follow” workflows, including search, invites, and simple privacy settings.
• GPS position: background-safe location capture so users can share current location on demand or find nearby connections (with the standard OS permission prompts).

Architecture expectations
A single, shared codebase (React Native, Flutter, or a comparable framework) is preferred, paired with a scalable backend (Firebase, Supabase, AWS Amplify, or your best recommendation). The solution should be ready for App Store and Google Play submission, so store-compliant icons, splash screens, and build profiles need to be provided.

Deliverables
• Source code with clear README and environment setup instructions
• Compiled release builds (IPA & AAB) ready for store upload
• API documentation or export from tools such as Postman/Swagger
• A quick screencast or walkthrough proving the features above in action

Acceptance criteria: the chat must deliver and display a message between two physical test devices under 2 seconds on a standard LTE network; the GPS toggle must respect permission states at all times; the friends/followers workflow must update immediately in both UIs without a restart.

Once I confirm the final builds pass these checks, the project is complete.

The application will run on mobile and web browser, by PC.

First step: to realize an MVP.
