Cross-Platform Social Media App Build
Budget: $250 – $750 USD
I need a full-stack team to build an MVP social network that feels like the best parts of Instagram and YouTube, delivered simultaneously on iOS, Android and the web. The heart of the product is rich media: users must be able to upload photos and long-form video, go live to their followers without noticeable latency, and post short-lived Stories that disappear automatically.
Organic growth features are equally critical: comments and likes should update in real time, and @user tagging has to work across captions, comments and story overlays. Direct messaging can wait for a later phase, so please keep the initial scope tight and performance-focused.
Account creation should allow friction-free sign-in with Facebook and Instagram as well as native email / password. Where possible, reuse those platforms’ OAuth flows so users can optionally cross-post content back to their existing audiences.
I’m comfortable with React Native, Flutter or another modern cross-platform stack as long as the final codebase is single-source and easy to extend. A scalable backend (Node.js, Firebase, or comparable) with cloud storage optimised for video, plus an admin console for content moderation, is expected.
Deliverables I need to see before sign-off:
• Source code for mobile apps, web client and backend
• Deployed staging environment with working photo/video upload, live streaming, Stories, real-time comments/likes and user tagging
• Social login with Facebook & Instagram fully tested
• Brief technical document covering architecture, third-party services and how to set up the project locally
If this sounds like a build you can own end-to-end, let’s discuss timelines and your preferred tech stack.
